Around the time of Emily’s heart and lung transplant, I had surgery on my knee to fix a cartrlidge issue.
Fast forward 8 years, and it’s new knee time!
Lot’s of appointments between the two. First through the NHS; where the waiting list was 12-18 months. But thanks to a new work benefit I can now go private.
From initial consultation with the new hospital to new knee day in under 5 weeks. (I’ll rant about how underfunded the NHS is another time)
In 5 days’ time, op will be over, and I’ll have my franken-leg.
Not going to lie. I’m getting nervous now. Hibiwash and nose gel starts in the morning. This is to prevent the risk of MRSA.
Also, I got 4 days in work left, with lots to sort out before I go off.
Going to use this blog to see me through prep and recovery. May be some pics along the way too.
Wish me luck.
